Zydus Lifesciences' Saroglitazar shows higher MASH resolution rates than placebo in phase 2b trial

Zydus Therapeutics reported that its investigational drug saroglitazar achieved resolution of steatohepatitis without worsening of fibrosis in 39.1% of patients receiving the 4 mg dose and 32.4% receiving 2 mg, compared with 13.7% on placebo in a Phase 2b trial. The study involved 189 adults with MASH and stage F2–F3 fibrosis, with treatment administered over 52 weeks.
