US Labor Market Is Failing to Provide Quality Jobs for Workers
A US government report Friday showed that the unemployment rate ticked higher to 4.2% in September from 4.1% in August. That’s still pretty low by historical standards. But the stability seems illusory, given we seem to be stuck in a labor market that rather than adding high-paying jobs, is dominated by lower-earning positions. No wonder purchasing power is slipping and workers are dissatisfied.
