Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Pradeep Purnekar shot dead in Thane; police launch probe

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Pradeep Purnekar died during treatment after unidentified assailants allegedly shot and assaulted him in Thane on Tuesday night. Police are examining CCTV footage from the attack site and nearby roads while checkpoints have been established across major exits. Investigators are yet to determine the motive and are examining possible political and personal angles in the case.
