SC to hear plea against CEC Gyanesh Kumar over alleged unilateral decisions next week

The Supreme Court will hear next week a petition challenging Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s alleged unilateral exercise of powers within the Election Commission. The plea also seeks his suspension while the case is pending. It argues that Election Commission decisions cannot be taken by the CEC alone and has sought the preservation of records linked to the allegations, including meeting minutes, file notes, approval documents and IT-access records.
