India among 20 countries exempted from US tariffs on certain speciality drugs
The US has granted a zero percent ad valorem tariff on certain speciality pharmaceutical products and ingredients imported from India and 19 other countries. The exemption covers medicines for rare diseases, infertility treatments, cell and gene therapies, antibody-drug conjugates and animal pharmaceuticals. It comes as Washington prepares to impose a 100% tariff on specified patented pharmaceutical imports and ingredients.
