Anthropic launches Claude Sonnet 5.5 as AI lab expands model lineup

Anthropic has added another model to its Claude 5.5 family, positioning Sonnet 5.5 as a faster and more cost-efficient option for enterprise users. The AI company said the model can handle coding, document creation and spreadsheet tasks while using fewer tokens for the same work. Anthropic also plans to launch Haiku 5.5, aimed at high-volume applications.
