Amazon Great Indian Festival: How your order moves from ‘Buy Now’ to doorstep
Amazon is expanding its fulfilment and delivery network ahead of the Great Indian Festival, which begins on October 8. Karan Chugh, Director of Operations at Amazon India, explains how an order travels from a customer's ‘Buy Now’ click to the doorstep. The process involves fulfilment centres, picking and packing stations, trucks, middle-mile sort centres and last-mile delivery stations. Amazon is adding 20 fulfilment centres, six sort centres and 150 last-mile delivery stations, while increasing cubic holding capacity by 50% to 64 million cubic feet for the festive season.
