US rail giant lands its biggest African services contract as Guinea business tops $1.2 billion

American rail-equipment company Wabtec has secured a contract worth more than $700 million to maintain and support locomotives operating on Guinea’s TransGuinean Railway, taking the value of its business linked to the Simandou iron-ore project above $1.2 billion.
