Nigeria’s nearly $1 billion US arms programme advances as Bell starts building 12 Viper helicopters

US aerospace company Bell Textron has begun producing 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters for Nigeria, advancing a military acquisition approved by Washington as part of a wider package valued at an estimated $997 million.
