RBI data quality index improves sharply in Q1; 75 banks score above 90

The Reserve Bank of India’s latest assessment shows a broad improvement in the quality of supervisory data submitted by banks during the June quarter. Accuracy recorded the biggest gain among the four parameters tracked by the central bank, while completeness and timeliness also improved. The number of entities rated in the “Good” category increased substantially during April-June. Small finance banks recorded the highest score among bank groups, while consistency was the only parameter to register a marginal decline during the quarter.
