The big shift in Indian manufacturing that has Jalaj Dani betting ₹1,000 crore
India’s manufacturing opportunity is shifting from cost-led production to intellectual property-led businesses, according to Asiana Fund Founder Jalaj Dani. Asiana Fund and Taiwan-based JC Capital have launched a ₹1,000 crore fund to invest in 12 to 15 growth-stage companies across semiconductors, robotics, computing, advanced materials, aerospace and defence. Dani said technology, commercial viability, scalability and execution will be key investment criteria, while India’s domestic demand, import dependence and evolving global supply chains are creating opportunities for proprietary technology.
