Child passport rules changed: 5 years or till age 18? Here’s what MEA says

The MEA has issued changes to the passport rules for children below the age of 15. The change has been introduced through the Passports (Amendment) Rules, 2026, notified in the Gazette of India on September 17. The new rules amend the Passport Rules, 1980.
