ISM 2.0: India Eyes Full Semiconductor Ecosystem As 5 Units Enter Production

India is stepping up its semiconductor ambitions with ISM 2.0. MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan says the next phase will build on the success of ISM 1.0, with five semiconductor units already built and currently in production. He described 2026 as a landmark year for India’s chip manufacturing journey, while highlighting ISM 2.0’s ecosystem-focused approach to building the entire semiconductor value chain in India. The scale of global participation is also drawing attention. More than 600 companies are participating at the exhibition, including around 300 overseas companies. Nearly 40,000 delegates from 52 countries have registered, with roughly a third coming from overseas.
