A rave for plants: Calgary company tests pulsed lighting to cut indoor-farm energy use
A pulsed-LED system that flashes too quickly for the human eye to detect is moving into commercial trials at four farms in Alberta and Ontario. In controlled tests, it produced the same harvest as regular LEDs while using up to 80 per cent less electricity.
