China beats the U.S. in one of Africa’s largest economies as $19.6bn in imports puts Beijing in the lead in Nigeria

A recent report from Nigeria's National Bureau of Statistics has revealed that during the first six months of 2026, goods originating from China reached N11.01 trillion (over $8 billion), securing nearly 40% of all Nigerian imports despite an overall drop in the nation's total foreign purchases.
