DMK announces candidates for October 6 Tamil Nadu bypolls

The Madurantakam and Dharapuram Assembly byelections are shaping up as a three-cornered contest between the DMK, AIADMK and the ruling TVK. DMK president M.K. Stalin has announced the party’s candidates for the October 6 polls, while the AIADMK and TVK are also gearing up for the contest. The two reserved seats fell vacant after AIADMK MLAs Maragatham Kumaravel and P. Sathyabama resigned and later joined the TVK.
