Dog goggles are more than a fashion statement; for many pets, they are a necessary medical or safety tool. These accessories are particularly vital for working dogs in extreme environments, animals with existing eye injuries, and pets participating in high-speed activities. The primary function of these goggles is to shield the ocular mucosa from dust, sand, and wind using impact-resistant, UV-protected lenses. They are highly recommended for dogs that ride in bicycle baskets, motorcycle sidecars, or accompany their owners during runs. They also provide a barrier when trekking through thorny brush or playing on sandy beaches. Medical conditions often drive the need for eye protection. Tinted lenses are specifically recommended for dogs with pannus (chronic keratitis), a condition common in German Shepherds that worsens with sun exposure.
