Turned into a tinderbox: Deadly fire at Kolkata’s Florence Mansion

In the span of a week 18 people lost their lives in two hotel fires in West Bengal, one in Kolkata, another in Tarapith. The fires exposed the gaps in the State’s firefighting infrastructure, a lack of regulation, perpetuation of corruption, and society’s divide between the haves and have-nots, reports Senjuti Sengupta
