Saskatchewan premier announces 50% retaliatory tax on US booze amid trade war
Starting Sept. 8 — the same date that Prime Minister Mark Carney's counter-tariffs will be applied — Saskatchewan is to impose a 50 per cent fee on American alcohol. Premier Scott Moe said he would not remove the alcohol from the shelves because it would limit peoples' ability to choose.
