Why gym progress stops: Body's tendency to conserve energy

A stall in physical progress during regular gym visits usually indicates that the body has adapted to the current level of activity. Because the organism seeks to conserve energy, it will not build muscle mass or burn fat reserves without a significant stress stimulus. When workouts become too easy, the training is no longer productive. Real physiological changes require a progression of loads that forces adaptation systems to operate at their maximum capacity. Identifying Under-Loading and Muscle Tension The most immediate signal of insufficient intensity is the sensation at the end of a set. If you finish an exercise and feel you could easily perform another 10-15 repetitions, the chosen weight is too low. For muscle growth, it is necessary to work in a range where the final 2-3 repetitions are difficult to complete while maintaining ideal form.
