Watch: Amit Shah attacks Sonia Gandhi over ‘Vande Mataram’ row

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday, August 16, 2026, accused the Congress of insulting the national song Vande Mataram during its Independence Day celebrations at the AICC headquarters. Addressing a public meeting in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, Shah alleged that Sonia Gandhi asked the song to be stopped midway and demanded an apology from her and the Congress.
