French newspapers target Google over AI summaries

French media have asked the country’s antitrust watchdog to intervene over Google’s AI-generated article summaries, which they say are depriving publishers of traffic, a press trade association said Tuesday. Critics say AI summaries are detrimental in that they lead to a drop in internet traffic to newspapers' articles.
