Google DeepMind: New AI Boss Has Big Problems to Fix After Hassabis Move

Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc. has shocked Silicon Valley with news of a management shake-up. Its artificial-intelligence boss Demis Hassabis will leave his day-to-day managerial role to become the company’s chief scientist, while veteran engineer Jeff Dean is leaving to launch a startup with several other top researchers from the firm.
