Israeli strikes kill eight overnight despite hopes for a deal

Israeli strikes on Gaza overnight killed at least eight people after hitting several residential buildings, authorities said Sunday. Seven people were also killed in Israeli strikes on Saturday, a day after Hamas said it had agreed to the latest deal on ending the war.
